Portuguese PhD student sales her project about:
Investigating the advantages and the potential of raising awareness among consumers in contributing to a sustainable seafood production and consumption in Portugal. *
The project is half of time now.
The work must be done between Portugal and Sweden.
Trustful and helpful supervisors.
Very nice colleagues.
Methodologies used:
- life cycle assessment,
- online questionnaires,
- statistics data analysis.
Future work will be to finish the studies already planned:
1 - seafood consumption in Portugal;
2 - the environmental assessment of sardine production by the Portuguese purse seine fleet;
3 - the environmental assessment of different sardine products (frozen, can, fresh);
4 - consumer perception regarding sustainability of seafood consumption in Portugal.
During the project time some important contacts were done and most of the data are now collected.
It will need some more work about sardine post harvest activities and sardine products in Portugal.
She offers her PhD project for:
- work in a kitchen or in a farm **
- a place to live
- near by the sea
- with happy people
Countries preference (in this order):
- Mozambique
- Norway
- Sweden
- Spain
- Portugal

- There were published new regulations last month.

After being noticed that the grants from July and August will be paid in September, they said that there will be no more payments for travels to the foreign country, to conferences, to fees for the foreign institution and there is a new limit of the time spend overseas: the 9 months initial planned were reduced for 6 months.
